So far, UPS products can simply be divided into two categories: offline UPS and online UPS. Online UPS will always output inverting voltage whether mains power failure or not, the quality of power supply is high and no switching time when power supply is cut. Technologically, online UPS can function as uninterruptible power supply to improve the quality of the power supply and backup power in principle. It should be said that online UPS is comparatively perfect type, High-end of UPS, apply to the most kinds of environment condition.

·       Local power supply and working condition

There are three types of system for online UPS: traditional double conversion system (mains frequency machine), high frequency double conversion system (high frequency machine), and three phase terminal system. Power environment at local side must be put into consideration when you decide to purchase, such as voltage stability, time and frequency of power blackout, loading equipment importance and whether it is necessary to connect a generator. The voltage is unstable and different from place to place in most areas in China. Generator is needed in some places. Generally, online UPS (high frequency and mains frequency type) with double conversion have a wide range of application of mains power.

High frequency online UPS with double conversion (especially intelligent UPS of CPU control) represent the trend of technology development, 60KVA UPS or below are the mature products, if technology, device, process guaranteed, its stability and reliability can be completely higher than those of mains frequency UPS; whereas, for the 60KVA or above UPS system, its stability and reliability need to be improved because of device technology.
